New Funding Model
Also known as branded content or Advertiser-Funded Programmes
The way programmes are financed is evolving and Spark have armed themselves with the knowledge and contacts to enable them to adapt to the myriad funding models now being used across the industry.
Navigating the world of AFP (Advertiser Funded Programming) can be difficult but Spark have already proven how to cater for both channel and brand with a 10-part series for UKTV’s ‘W’ channel. Battlechefs was a fully-funded format with P&O Cruises which we produced for UKTV under the stewardship of AFP pioneer, Sally Quick.
In 2024, Spark won a competitive tender to produce a Branded Entertainment film for Estrella Galicia and Channel 4’s digital team. Our proven track-record delivering strong editorial content for brands and channels led to us being trusted to deliver this digital-first content.
Spark is also in active discussions on specific projects with Motion Content, Krempelwood and John Chadwick-Jones’ Clik Productions – who between them offer a variety of different ways of working including Brand Partnerships, Programme Finance and Ad-Funding. Some of Spark’s leadership team have also been responsible for creating and producing numerous brand-funded content with partners Red Bull, Young’s, Dulux and Fosters.
