Thursday 4th July was a big night for all involved with Spark Media as we threw a party to celebrate our 10 years as a production company. Surviving and thriving through 10 of the most extraordinary years in modern history is no mean feat – especially given the parlous state of the TV industry – so we thought it was important to mark the occasion.
Mark kindly offered to host the party at his house in Wimbledon and was joined on the organising committee by his wife Tina, my wife Catherine and our head of production Helen. Collectively they did a magnificent job and were supported by the wonderful Kate Curtis and her M Bar crew (www.the-mbar.co.uk), super-caterers Nikki’s Kitchen (www.itsnikkiskitchen.com), Charlotte Dean from Wined Up Here (wineduphere.co.uk), marquee suppliers Pavilion Structures (pavilion-structures.com) and last but not least, the perfectly pitched DJ Marcus Barnes (Insta – @mgoldenbarnes).
It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many of the people who’ve helped us to grow Spark over the previous decade – from lawyers to producers, musicians to distributors and researchers to PD’s – and we look forward to continue working with them long into the future!
The night was also an opportunity for Mark & me to display some performance skills of our own. I was pleased to be joined by my fellow Breathing Space singers and we sang a few a cappella tunes before Mark showed off his poetry skills with a fabulously funny take on those present.
All in all, a great night was had by all. Here’s to the next 10 years!
