Spark Media’s follow-up series to Ancient Egypt by Train sees Professor Alice Roberts take to the railways once more to learn about a great empire from the past.
Commissioned by Channel 4 and Bossanova Media, this 5-part series follows Alice from her starting point in Adana, near the Turkish border with Syria, across the Taurus Mountains towards, Konya, Ankara and Bursa, into Istanbul. Alice takes the sleeper train from Asia to Europe as she makes her way up the Balkans from Sofia to Belgrade and Timisoara and eventually finishing at Budapest, the northern limit of the Ottoman Empire.
